MC #2 : Different Nights, Same Nightmare

Soundtrack of Coming-of-Age Track 1. Child (MARK) (Twitter/@Ieemarkees) This is what being an adult feels like, huh?  That rhetorical question popped up in my mind as soon as I hit 18 years old, about three years ago. Yep, barely an adult but the pandemic really played a great amount of part for it. I actually turned 17 about a month after the school's two weeks—ended up as two years—holiday announced. I feel like ever since then I started listening to a lot more music. The clock's turning to 2:50 AM right when I write this line. It's late at night and I can't fall asleep yet, so I'm putting in my earphones and turning my music on. It's the coming-of-age  soundtrack's playlist.  By the way, three years have gone by since I updated something here (i’m finally back y’all😼 wkwk). Now I'm back to the Music Corner to share some of my favorite (kind of) adulting songs, starting with the K-pop ones.  So for track one, I want to invite you to dive into the lyri...

MC #1 : They Ain't Got A Shot On Me

You Never Know (BLACKPINK) Lately I was suddenly interested in BLACKPINK, so I decided to listen to their new album. Also, this is the first time I listened to them. Previously I’ve just heard their songs played by others, but never really paid attention. Since I'm not really into K-pop, I would admit that the tracks of the album stole my attention. My most favorite is the last track, titled You Never Know . It feels personal to me even from the beginning. (By the way, I used some sources to translate the lyrics cause I've never learned Korean. #cmiiw) So, here we go. 애써서 활짝 웃었던 날에 (On the day I tried to smile broadly) 밤은 왜 더 어두울까 (Why is the night darker?) It keeps bringing me down, down, down Since I've never followed them, I never know if their song would be as deep as this. Without knowing the lyrics yet, the music itself already sounds deep. That's the first thing that goes inside my mind. This first verse is sung by Jisoo. Damn, I...

Music Corner: How Music Affects My Life

"Music is half of my life." This phrase is related to me cause I can't even imagine how my life will go on without music. It means a lot to me. Music fulfills my empty life. Especially since the pandemic has attacked us all, pushed us to stay at home, I never pass my day without music. I even explore more genres and renew my song playlist, so that I can play them all day long. Besides, my family has their special connection with arts, including music. I also admit that I get privilege by my skills in playing piano and guitar (to have them on home tho:>), so whenever I get bored for just listening to the songs, I can grab my instruments and play them. (I'm still learning more to be better tho:>) My life feels more alive as the presence of music itself. They're with me when I am happy and in a good mood, but they will also accompany me when I am sad, or confused, or even when I’m going through anxiety in the middle of the night. Every time I'm ...
